Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire.

—W. B. Yeats

When you want to go on a trip, you will definitely google where you can visit or how to take public transportation. You do these things automatically, for you need it.

Therefore, for me, education should be to let students have the desire to learn, instead of constantly filling up with knowledge to students. When students have the motivation to learn, they will be responsible for their own learning naturally. However, this is also the most difficult part on the spot of teaching.

In addition, the function of teaching is not only imparting the knowledge but also allowing students to transform the knowledge into tools to solve problems faced in their daily life. Thus, the content of courses should be linked to student life. In the classroom, the role of students become more active. Students are learning by doing so that they could adapt to the rapidly changing society and survive.

When I interact with my students, not only can students learn from me, but I also can learn from students. Teaching benefits teachers as well as students. As a teacher in the future, I should view students as “people”, instead of viewing them as "things" or "tools”. In this way, the relationship between students and me will be two-way and mutual trust so that we can share each other's knowledge, feelings, and expectations.
